A Londoner had advertised a very lovely dog for sale,
and two customers ,one gentleman from America and one
lady from the suburbs of London, arrived at his house
to bid for it ,The lady went up to 10 pound ,and the
gentleman to 15 pound .
"No, I can`t top that ," said the English lady .
"10 pounds is as high as I can go ."
"sold!" said the Londoner .
After the lady had left delightedly with her newly -bought
dog , the American said , "How come that you sold it for 5pounds
less than I was bidding?"
"It`s simple enough, sir ," said the londoner ,
"The dog can walk back London but it cannot swim the Atlantic."
